1. The Department of English started from the year of the inception of the college. The department offers only general course. There were two faculties from the beginning, but presently one post is vacant due to sudden demise of a faculty. The motto of the department is to convey the literary history, literary forms, wide variety of texts and array of vocabularies and practices used to consider them and to develop an understanding of an appreciation for the English language.

1. The Department of Economics has been started its journey since the establishment of the college i.e. 1992. The Honors course has been introduced by the Department from the session 2014-2015 onwards. The Department has been laying special emphasis on developing proper understanding of the Socio – Economic problems of North-East India in general and the Barak Valley in particular.

1. The Department of Political Science started functioning from 1992 with pass course. The Department has two faculties. The Department endeavors to generate new knowledge and produce students who are trained in political science. To inspire the next generation to develop ideas on peaceful co-existence ,the ethos of unity in Diversity, understanding and respecting cultures to help, build a just and tolerant society.

The Department of History has been started its journey since the establishment of the college ie in 1992. The Department is running with 2 nos. of faculty members.
